Anyone young and building. Most of our members are in school or university, but we care about what you make, not what year you are in. Complete beginners are welcome — a good half of the club had shipped nothing at all when they arrived.
No. Membership, the Discord and our events are free. If an event ever has a cost attached (travel, venue, food), it will be stated up front and we will try to cover it through partners.
No. Designers, writers, hardware people, video editors and organisers all build things. If you make something that did not exist before, you are a builder as far as we are concerned.
Everyone states what they are shipping that session, works for about two hours in a shared call or room, then demos. It is deliberately low-ceremony. The point is the deadline and the audience.
As much or as little as you want. Some members only turn up for build-a-thons; others are in the Discord daily. There is no attendance requirement and no guilt.
Both. The Discord is the home base and it is always online. Chapters run in-person build nights locally, and the big online events — like the Build-a-thon — are open to everyone, anywhere.
Yes, and we would like you to. You bring the room and the date; we send the playbook, branding, event formats and support. Get in touch and we will take it from there.
You do. Entirely. We never take equity, IP or a cut of anything made at our events. We just want to see it exist.
We are opening partnerships now — mentors, prizes, venues, credits and tooling. Email us and tell us what you have in mind.
Ask it in the Discord — that is the fastest route — or email us and a human will reply.
